Its most famous “inhabitant” is probably Billy Cook, who killed six people during a 22-day criminal rampage between Missouri and California in the early 1950s. Joplin Spook Light, aka Hollis Light or Hornet Spooklight, is a ball of light or group of lights that appear in an area called the Devil’s Promenade.
